Red Rock Casino – The Bagel Cafe

Las Vegas, despite its recent economic troubles, remains the city of guilty pleasures and indulgences. There are few places in the world where one can partake in widespread gambling, enjoy the abundance and variety of exotically themed Las Vegas hotels , and be constantly bombarded by vibrant visual and audio stimulation. However, trying to satisfy one of the most basic of human urges may prove to be a bit challenging in the city of Sin: cheap food that doesn’t taste cheap is surprisingly hard to find. Greasy fast food and subpar tourist trap eateries occupy one end of the price spectrum, while overpriced (and overhyped) celebrity restaurants occupy the other. What is a hungry stomach with a reasonable budget to do?
Luckily, the Bagel Café, long a local favorite, is expanding to its third location inside the luxurious Red Rock Casino & Resort. This New York-style deli is a perfect match for the rest of the Las Vegas restaurants that are featured in Red Rock – it offers high quality food prepared with love for a reasonable price. As with all food that tastes this good, all the items on the menu are made from scratch and tastes like your mother just made it (that is, if your mother can cook). The namesake bagels are dense and packed with flavor. Local breakfast favorites include the spinach feta omelet, hearty Matzoh ball soup, and giant sandwiches stuffed with vegetables and meat. The Bagel Café also surprisingly specializes in desserts, as evidenced by their comprehensive pastry display that always draws wandering eyes. Most dishes can be had for under $12.

Open since 1996, the Bagel Café continues to be the only East-coast style deli destination for dedicated foodies on and off the Strip. Next time you are in town for a Las Vegas vacation and are in the mood for good food that comes in mammoth portions (at a small price), be sure to go where the locals go: The Bagel Café.
