A MOST INTERESTING RESTAURANT IN THE ONE OF THE MOST RUN DOWN STRIP CENTERS EVER
A suburb of Denver, a really, really bad little center that had just a few businesses. A place my wife would never consent to walk into, at least not without police protection. But friends said it was the place to go but we had no idea why. We walk in and see a relatively small area with a long counter leading to a register. We were there very early so there were not many people around. Both of us thought we had made a big mistake but we stayed with it. We paid our money (to much we thought) and the cashier said to follow the hostess, which we did through a not so pretty long winding hallway.
Then we came upon a very dark big area and we began to walk up a path. Weird. We arrived at our table which was a cave with an open front. Looking around we realized that our cave was in the face of a big cliff-like wall with many, many caves where other customers were sitting. All of the caves looked out and down on a huge lagoon. Around the lagoon were palm trees, running water and more tables. Each table in the place had a flag. When customers raised their flags runners appeared and served you hot, fresh soapapillas with honey.
Dinner was ordered, we looked at the water and other decor and thought this was nice. THEN, the music started, singers appeared and the dancers came out. Even nicer, we thought. THEN, divers appeared on a rocky area high above us and they began to dive into the lagoon below. This was really over the top.
Editors Note: This story was fact checked and the restaurant, Casa Bonita, does still exist today.

I am already a fan of Bagel Me bagels. I did a comparison about 5 years ago. i bought bagels from every place within about 30 miles and weighed them all. From the weights I got Bagel Me, by far, had the biggest bagels around. You know what I really like about them? When you bite into a blueberry, for instance, you get real blueberries. So many other places have these artificial bits of whatever. And the cheese bagels. You can actually taste a rich cheddar cheese instead of getting a bagel with something yellow on it with no taste. My personal favorite is the Jalapeno Cheese. My early morning favorite is the Cinnamon Toasted Bagel. I don’t know of any of the other bagel places even serving this one.
My favorite sandwich? Turkey, bacon, avocado hands down. Turkey is real good and not the semi-fake stuff that does not even taste like turkey. Only thing i would wish for is roast beef. Don’t know why they don’t serve it.
Oh, and the cream cheese. There is something different about it. I don’t know what it is but it just tastes better.
Now I have talked myself into being hungry.
