Cupcake & Wine Pairing Cookies n Creme with Zinfandel

In our second installment of the cupcake and wine pairing we feature a Cookies n Cream cupcake from The Sugar Me Bakery with a bottle of the Seghesio Winery Zinfandel Sonoma County 2007. Zinfandel and chocolate are perfect complements to each to other and this bottle of Zinfandel perfectly accentuates the chocolate in this cupcake.
This Seghesio wine received 93 points and is listed as the #10 wine in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2008: “A seductive and vigorous Zinfandel, with smoky black cherry and blueberry aromas and youthful wild berry, sage and cracked pepper flavors that have a lingering finish and zesty tannins. Drink now through 2012.”
The Cookies n Cream cupcake consists of chocolate cake topped with vanilla buttercream, chopped Oreo cookies and white chocolate drizzle. It is one of the most popular cupcakes at The Sugar Me Bakery.
